EGNOS Enhanced Payload Management System

An important building block for the FieldCopter Service is the Payload Management System (PMS).


In FieldCopter, the engineers at CATEC developed a PMS that includes EGNOS in its navigation solution. EGNOS has a stronger influence on the vertical axis; a critical aspect for flying! Therefore, the position of the aircraft at the time of image acquisition is accurately known. The navigation function is integrated in the FieldCopter PMS hardware. This has resulted in the dedicated EGNOS Enhanced Payload Management System (E2PMS). Besides the navigation function, the E2PMS also manages the live video stream from the camera and the remote control of the camera (focus, recording) as well as a data transfer system.print
